“It is always nice to see a new business in the Coalfields, and this one brings a hint of the food trends that grace other parts of the country. We went at lunch, so the selection was mostly wraps and sandwiches, but the menu changes often, with daily features and desserts. The decor is adorable. Someone has spent great care cleaning up the old tin ceilings and hand painting the walls and decorative elements. It is a combination of victoriana/southern kitsch/trendy hipster. The prices are quite reasonable, and not far off from a "value meal" at the fast food places across the river.
Everyone was quite friendly, and the chef came out to discuss the special dietary needs of one of our group. In a small town with few special needs options, he was willing to tweak a dish on the menu, which was great for someone with multiple dietary restrictions.
The Poppyseed salad is a spinach based salad with apples, oranges, dried cranberries, feta cheese, and etc. It was quite yummy! We also had a turkey Panini sandwich with white chedar, spinach, and caramelized onions&grape topping. This creative combination was very tasty! Creative, modern flavor combinations with the limited ingredients that are available in the local area; well done!
Would definitely go back again, and would definitely recommend it.”
